First-Time Setup
1. Invite the Bot
Use the official invite:
Invite Afterparty Groovy Music
2. Check Voice Permissions
Open Server Settings > Roles > Afterparty Groovy Music and confirm:
- View Channels
- Connect
- Speak
- Send Messages
- Embed Links
3. Join a Voice Channel
Join the target voice channel where playback should happen.
4. Test Playback
Run /play with a song query or direct link from YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, or another supported source.
5. Validate Queue Controls
Test /queue, /skip, /pause, /resume, and /stop.
6. Optional Music Channel
Use /setup-channel set or /setdefaultchannel if you want a dedicated music request/update channel. Setup channels are free.
Setup Checklist
- Bot can connect/speak in target voice channels
- Slash commands visible in test channel
- Playback and queue commands respond correctly
- Optional setup/default music channel responds if configured
